We have to talk about … shiny things. This is becoming a trend that needs to end — unless, of course, you yourself are lucky enough to be rocking the red carpet. Actually, unless you are Adam Lambert, because personally, I think he is the only guy who can pull this off right now.

I am talking about the shiny suit — even the glittery shirt. There are, again, some exceptions, but trust me when I say you probably are not one of them. I don’t mean to be harsh here, just honest; the two often go hand in hand.

You may be tempted to throw on a glittery shirt or a suit with a sheen to go to the club, but … don’t. Just don’t. Resist temptation. All too often, glitter is a synonym for tacky. Stick with something black — without the sheen. It’s classic, it’s sexy, and it doesn’t give off a reflection.

So let’s talk military trend. Now personally, I did not think that this trend would take all that well on the runway, but it did! It totally took and although these looks will be seen more in the fall and winter months, just know that they are coming! Seriously, they look pretty freakin’ cool too, then again – I am a gothic chick, so I absolutely love the darker side of things.

Now mainly, these designs are by Gareth Pugh, who is known for his off-the-wall designs and known for some of the coolest and darkest runway shows in the world. Personally, I would love to meet this particular designer for putting pretty boys in things like in this picture!

So look out guys! This look is coming sooner than you think!

Further, the designs and colors indicate the groom’s birthplace or his ancestors’ hometown if he was born outside of Norway. The complete suit includes a white silk shirt, short pants, knee-length stockings, a vest and a topcoat. Traditionally the wedding garb was handmade and brooches may have been used to fasten the shirt together. Many of the buttons on the topcoat were made of silver, brass or pewter

Now you may be thinking that I am just throwing up women’s clothing in hopes that men will finally switch over and everyone will cross-dress right? Wrong! It looks like suit jackets are finally softening up and this is just one of the many examples of it! This lovely … sample, is from Bottega and honestly, the price of this ‘suit jacket’ is over one thousand dollars.

Now even though I love a man who can pull off a skirt and a girl’s top, I can not see any guy actually walking into anywhere with this suit coat on. Personally? I hate it, but if you are looking to soften up your style, this is a great way to do it! Also, gay men … this is for you! Seriously, don’t you just love it?

More to look forward to in ’09 in the next post guys, hang onto your caps!

This is a wonderful collection for the classically minded gentleman. Not that you have to be a gentleman, but the suits would sure make you look like one. Everything, from the classic suits to the shorter versions of the classic suits, make this a wonderful collection. It’s definitely a nice change from some of the designer collections that are out there. This menswear line is full of pieces that are completely wearable to any occasion. The designs look highly comfortable, and would conveniently go from office to night on the town. Perfect.

After all, men like to wear color too, right? There is no rule that says men can’t wear canary yellow. Now, the shorts with the blazer look is great. I love that one. There is also a suit with a sheer pullover shirt over the shirt and tie, but under the jacket (hope that wasn’t too confusing). That suit is great, the picture is below so you can check it out for yourself.

J. Lindeberg has done a fabulous job with loosely fitting clothes, and the use of sheer fabrics in men’s designs. The sheer shirt under the semi-sheer and very lightweight cardigan is a great look for spring. Add to that the very cool shoes, and the scarves on practically every design, and it made for a great runway show. The colors, whites, off-whites, and creams, as well as the darker hues, are a great look for spring and summer. I especially like the blue leather (or pleather?). The bright color is fabulous and the look is just plain sexy. The whole collection sort of gives you the Red Baron (you know the pilot) feeling.

Calvin Klein is like Gucci and Versace, a fashion staple. Now, admit it, you know you own at least one thing from Calvin Klein. Even if you don’t, this new line will have you wanting to. Lots of leather abounds in this one, from jackets to pants, and the pieces all look entirely comfortable, while still holding their class. The orange muscle shirt, although I wouldn’t have chosen it to wear to the office, still looks great with a suit. All these pieces are casual/dressy, and that sure can make for a great wardrobe.

Okay, Tommy Hilfiger is sort of an icon when it comes to fashion, men’s and women’s. His new Spring/Summer 2008 line is no exception. The basic blazers, the button up shirts, even the patterned trousers, are all vintage Tommy. I like it though, even the pink. And believe me there is a lot of pink in this new line; pink shirts, pink jackets, even pink pants. The seahorse print is strangely attractive, too. Overall, I think Tommy Hilfiger has done what he always does, produce a line that people will love, even pink haters.
