You can wear your velvet blazer with your favorite well fitting denim. A lot of people will say this is a cliché but it works. The textures are contrasting and create a relaxed but neat look. You can wear a t-shirt under the blazer and put a patterned handkerchief in pocket to get that edge. Finish the look with a pair of Converse or go for that brogues.

Smart

The velvet blazer is also perfect for the parties this holiday season. Get that elegant and flamboyant look by pairing your burgundy blazer with some white trousers and have a pair of dress loafers. You can pair this shade of velvet blazer with a shirt in the shade of navy blue that will go well with the shoes.

Office

You can also boost your mood in the office in this slumping economy by donning a cool velvet blazer to work. You can stick with the black and burgundy scheme and you will never go wrong. You can go for slim fit trousers in grey and pair it with classic looking black shoes to keep it corporate.

Tuxedo

You can play with the velvet blazer during a black tie event. Go for a double breasted look plus your usual tuxedo items – trousers, dress shirt, patent shoes, and bow tie.

These are just some of the looks you can achieve with the velvet blazer and just proves that you should consider it in case you do not have it yet in your wardrobe.

Personally, I think that when a guy wears a hoodie, it should be against his body and it should show off some of the curves and some of the beauty of his body and you can not do that when you are constantly wearing a baggy hoodie.

Hence the reason for skinny hoodies.  These hoodies are actually incredible and really do make the man in them look amazing!

Simon Spurr and Michael Bastian chose to pay homage to the classic look, while other designers, such as Calvin Klein and Michael Kors, chose to dress things up a notch.

Kors, by the way, matched his leather with fur, which is why he is still often a man after my own heart.

It has to be said that this particular trend is much more palatable to some — including yours truly — than, say, the strange prevalence of plaids stretching as far as the eye can see.

One rule that you need to remember about ties is that they should always – always be darker than the shirt, that way they do not stand out as much … or if the shirt is white, it stands out that much more.

Remember – one color that goes with pretty much anything grey – and also its distance cousin of black.  Grey is something that you can use in a casual outfit all the way to an outfit that is dressy.

Well guys, I am here to pull you out of that and make sure that you look very, very good at your next function.  It’s a brand new year almost and you should be looking your best.  In the next couple blogs, we are going to talk about how to put a shirt and a tie together.

In general, darker jeans or pants are a better bet. After all, the snow can get muddy, accidents happen — but they will not show up so much on dark colors, so no outfits will get ruined right before a holiday party or get together with a date.

Now, a lost art: why do so few men carry handkerchiefs? You should. You should always have one with you, in fact — it is both stylish and gentlemanly.

For one thing, learn how to layer. Layering cotton and wool the right way can make a big difference, and using classic pieces will serve you well.

Specifically, cotton should be worn close to your body, while wool — which retains heat — is good for sweaters, jackets, and overcoats.

Speaking of which, getting a good overcoat is a great idea not just for the holidays but for winter in general. It will add just the right touch of class and sophistication to your ensemble.

And don’t forget the right accessories — a scarf, gloves, even a hat — to go with it.

When you are going to a formal holiday party or other formal occasion, you should also think about wearing a jacket.

As far as more casual pants, like jeans and khakis, you can go for wool or even cashmere here, but at least make sure the fabric is thicker. And those fashionable rips? Not so great in winter.

Layers are your friends when it is cold. Sweaters and shirts should be layered, and cashmere works wonders. They should be thin enough to go under sport coats or button downs.

Speaking of which, sport coats in tweed and blazers are ideal as well. Even vests are acceptable.

Boots are a must. Leather or suede is best in a neutral like brown or black.

Feel free to dress everything up — and warm it up — further with a scarf, gloves, and even a hat.

Naturally, your first step will be choosing a good, quality overcoat or jacket. Down jackets are great, as are wool coats; both will keep you warm during the weather. If you need a formal look, go with a collared coat that has buttons.

This is just one of the many styles that you can choose from and one of the many colors – because really, you can pick any color as long as it is leather.  The great thing about leather jackets is that they are extremely warm, which fits in very well with the wintertime.
